Strategic Planning & Partnership Development

With more than twenty five million passengers per year, Vancouver International Airport (YVR), is one of North America’s busiest airports and regularly voted as the best airport experience in the region. To guide the next phase of their growth and development, over the last four years GAO has supported YVR with the development and execution of their 2020 Integrated Marketing Strategy.

As an integral part of both their Air Service Development and Commercial Services teams, GAO has delivered a range of strategic planning, partnership and marketing projects, including:

  • Development of a Strategic Partnership Framework to guide YVR’s engagement with government, airlines, marketing and travel trade
  • A phased Aviation Marketing Model to support new routes, service launches and ongoing programs to ensure long-term route viability
  • Execution of travel trade and airline business development events in China
  • Coordination and delivery of training programs for YVR’s commercial tenants
  • Identifying and supporting engagement with commercial, airline, marketing and digital partners including Tencent, Alibaba, UnionPay and Destination Canada
